~ ~ Welcome to the Isle of Arran ~ ~

This land has been swallowed by the sea.

There was a green place in a land far away, a place with a sheltering bay surrounded by jagged peaks and the shadow of a giant snow-clad mountain. To this place came a group of beings, as diverse as beings can be to one another, and they put down roots and made homes for themselves. Now, this is not to say there was peace in this land. With diversity also comes conflict and soon sides were taken, some friendships forgotten and lines were drawn. Some, thinking bigness means power, blamed the dragons for the conflict. Others, believing magic was the source, blamed the elves and fae. And of course, there were those that said that where you have humans, you will always have problems! So, instead of living in harmonious consort with each other, they split into their respective groups and moved to the four corners of the realm, eyeing each other with much suspicion and chagrin.
But of course, as we all know, in order to survive you have to get along with someone. So new friendships were forged and new bonds made. But in the Isle of Arran, those bonds do not last for long. Someone ALWAYS brings a shadow of a doubt to the fire…and then…things happen.

Demon or Spider?

Casandra Shilova opens the door, coming into the tavern to see an unsual group "greetings all"
Justine: greetin's lady Cas
Ivarru: greetings fae
Salazar Rage looks at Swith "finish your rum and maybe you can have some later. it is a bit too strong for most." he turns at the mention of Cas
Swith the Scop (Cyneswith Luik) ducks a little to look underneath Ivarru's wing, then smiles: Oh, greetin's miss..then nods at the dragon, swigging some more rum: Aye.. I'll hold yer ta that offer...
Casandra: How is everyone this eve?
Salazar smiles at her " i am well."
Justine: I be doin' fine
Swith the Scop says 'I's alright miss.. 'ow's yerself?'
Casandra twitches her wings, settling them into place "I am fine. It seems humid to me though"
Swith the Scop says ''ave a rum or two an' yer'll nah care..'
Ivarru: what delightful new wings
Swith the Scop: Aye, it does seem a bit sticky
Casandra gives him a big smile "why thank you!" She considers and then decides against the rum "Could I have a mead please Justine?
Justine nods "Aye, one mead comin up"
Swith the Scop puts down her mug and picks up the last few eggs: 'ere, watch this salazar... I'll show yer 'ow ta juggle... although in truth, yer probably can't wi' yer dragon paws there...
Ivarru: i guesss it is only the elves who do not like to partake in some drink
Casandra walks over to the bar, trying to fit in near the dragons huge wings, wondering if perhaps she should glamor hers smaller to fit
Swith the Scop stands away from the counter and amuses herself juggling a while.
Justine fills up a mug for Cas and sets it by her "'ere ya go, milady"
Ivarru: its a wonder you can do that and still stand upright Swith
Salazar watches a moment before adding a small fireball he pulls from a nearby candle to the middle.
Casandra: oh SweetPea vastly prefers milk and pies, she thinks the rest of the fae are daft for liking to drink
Swith the Scop says 'pfft... nothin' to it... I's a natural entertainer, yer knows...'
Casandra: "thank you Justine" hands her two coins
Justine takes the coins with a smile "Yer welcome'
Swith the Scop blinks at the fireball, dropping an egg.
Justine: Tis a good thin' that was boiled
Swith the Scop catches the other two in one hand and backs away: 'ere... watch out wi' that fire...Near lost me eyebrows...'She looks down and kicks the broken boiled egg behind a barrel. comes back toward the counter and returns the eggs to the bowl, before picking up her mug again to have a sip.
Justine: Ivarru, you 'avin anythin'?
Ivarru: 'some rum will be great' He places a few coin on the bar
Justine nods and turns to fill a mug of rum. She brings the mug over and sets it next to Ivarru "'ere ya go"
Salazar picks up a second glass of his dragon whiskey and begins to sip
Swith the Scop finishes her rum, glancing at the dragon whiskey again.
Ivarru takes the mug. thank you fair maiden
Justine smiles 'Yer welcome'
Swith the Scop looks at Ivarru: 'ow many rums it take afore yer falls over, sir?
Casandra thinks there is no possibility that liquor would make him fall on his face
Ivarru: probably more than what is stocked in this bar
Swith the Scop says 'Aww... tha's nah fun...'
Ivarru: i prefer the bitter taste more than anything
Swith the Scop says 'I's decided I needs a drinkin' partner... nah fun when yer the only one havin' a good time about...'
Justine scoops up all the coins "That be true'
Swith the Scop says 'I'd take on that young stable lad, but I 'eard 'e can't even finish a tankard of ale...'
Ivarru takes a flask from his belt and pours a bit into his mug
Casandra shakes her head "He doesn't look as though he could take on much of anything, take a care with him"
Swith the Scop glances at the flask, then beyond, at Salazar's amber bottle: Eh... I's finished me rum, Salazar, sir...
Salazar pushes a glass at her with the back of his hand
Swith the Scop grins, watching the glass coming nearer: Don't mind if I do sir... thankin' yer...She picks up the glass and has a small sip. She swallows hard and coughs lightly.
Salazar laughs "same thing every time." sips his sedately and smiles in between sips
Swith the Scop has another sip of the dragon whiskey, taking it better now after the initial shock. She hiccups and glances at the door. says 'Oh, it be the other fae... greetin's miss...'
Casandra hears the door "greetings SweetPea"
Salazar stands " well i must be off for a bit, couple of things to attend to."
SweetPea giggles 'greetings Cas and Swith and Justine
Swith the Scop slurs slightly: Sweetpea... tha's yer name is it? She gives a wave to salazar: Be well sir... thankin' yer fer the drink...
SweetPea says with a smile "yes, that is my name. It was given to me a friend from a far away palce ' she giggles again
Salazar snaps his fingers and evaporates his bottle and glasses
Swith the Scop blinks at where the bottle was.She looks mildly disappointed and sips some more of her drink.
SweetPea goes closer to her queen when she notices the dark figure
Swith the Scop says 'Aye.... sweet pea. I'll try ta remember... ... but me memory nah so good sometimes...'
SweetPea laughs "your memory is excellent when it comes to tunes'
Casandra: come stand by me SweetPea. Do you remember Ivarru?
Swith the Scop nods: Aye... I reckons the songs takes up all the space...
Ivarru: why greetings little fae
SweetPea scowls "I have seen you talking to him and he chased me away once'
Ivarru: is this a friend of yours Casandra, she is a rather tiny fae
Casandra turns to him "yes, this is my good friend SweetPea". She then says "SweePea this is my friend and good advisor Ivarru"
SweetPea flits around and then stands still "an advisor?'
Swith the Scop hiccups, swaying a little as she sips some more dragon whisky.
Casandra: oh yes, he gives me excellent advice
SweetPea looks at her friend very closely "He is a demon! with all due respect, you are all too trusting my Queen'
Ivarru: of course I am gives me a unique prospective on things
Casandra nods "that is true, he is. Don't hold that against him"
Ivarru: swith here is my friend too though she will never admit to it in front of linwe
SweetPea says 'you really should be careful where you place your trust" and she remembers how mean he was to her when he chased her away.
Casandra shakes her head "oh Dear, you are so cautious. I don't think I am too trusting. I believe in giving everyone an opportunity, and he has been a staunch friend and never has he given me bad advice"
SweetPea screws up her eyes shut tight and casts a glamour on the demon. She grunts very deeply and waves her arm "A spider you shall appear to Cas" and she stamps her foot to seal the spell. Then says to all in an offhand way "Cas is afraid of spiders and this will make her distrust the demon like she should"
Ivarru: what trickery is this little one
SweetPea giggles 'just a little faery glamour. I have been practicing'
Casandra looks at her friend and doesn't believe her eyes, where he stood is a monsterously huge black spider with long hairy legs reaching out to her. She backs up quickly
SweetPea jumps up "oh my! it worked!'
Ivarru: what is wrong cassandra

Casandra pushes against the legs and finds she is trapped!!!!
SweetPea skips out nimbly from under the legs and giggles
Casandra screams "aAAcckK!!!"
Ivarru: what are you screamng about?
Casandraa falls onto the floor, laying face down and oblivious to all going on around her

Justine: Are ye okay, Lady Cas?
Ivarru: what is wrong with her
SweetPea shouts out to the demon "she sees you now as she should see you - a thing to be feared'
Ivarru: what have you done to her?
Casandra regains consciousness, sits and then stands shakily
SweetPea FeatherFeet says "I have done nothing to her'
Ivarru: liar
Justine helps Cas to stand
SweetPea puts her hand on her hips "fae don't lie"
Casandra: oh, ohhhh....I feel strange
Ivarru: if I must I will take you to the underdark and torture the answer out of you
SweetPea flies out of the door
Ivarru: what has that little fae done to her
Casandra looks around, sees Justine "thank you"
Justine: She seems alright, just shaken
Casandra looks up further, sees the huge spider again and bolts for the door
Justine: Cas??
Casandra screaks and runs out
Ivarru: hmmm

Annoying Elven Lay

Linwe glances over at Cassandra
Conner Revnik (Ivarru): oh a fae a human and an elf it must be my lucky day
Casandra calls out "Is everything all right?"
Linwe says 'Aye, Cassie...'
Linwe says 'He doesna hold us in thrall or anythin like that..he just be...bein a demon is all'
Casandra nods, not terribly reassured since he took to the air as soon as she asked
Linwe says 'Pay him no mind..he doesna like bein ignored'
Linwe says 'Tis like a pesky bug he is'
Swith the Scop waves at the fae and hiccups.
Casandra waves to Swith
Linwe says 'Ye know..there have been times I ahs wished I wwere born as an avariel..'
Linwe says 'But they be such reclusive elves'
Casandra flutters her wings
Swith says 'Nah... we's even... two flyin', two walkin'.'
Casandra: I do love having wings
Linwe says 'Maybe we can sweetness and lightness him to death'
Swith smirks: Bloody 'eck... think that'd kill me too...
Casandra Shilova: they make it so easy to get around. and to flee when the need arises
Casandra Shilova giggles
Linwe says 'I dunna know about the sweetness part..but I could do the lightness'
Linwe says 'I think I would make meself ill if I tried the sweetness part'
Swith hiccups and leans against the wall: Well I'll do sweetness.
Swith grins, showing some bad teeth.
Linwe says 'Alright..ye and Cassie do sweetness and I will do lightness'
Casandra smiles sweetly at the demon
Casandra: How are you today dear sir?
Ivarru: I am well
Linwe says 'He didna like it when El hugged him...he screeched like a girl...but I wouldna advise touchin huim'
Swith smirks: Nah... think I'll do nappin' instead.
Casandra: that is magnificent, I am so very glad you are well
Swith yawns for a while and has a last swig of rum before recorking the bottle.
Linwe says 'Aye,,ye go pick out a pew in yon church there Swith..a nice comfy one'
Swith says 'Oh aye... um... the church. Right.looks drunkenly confused a while, then slowly heads off in the direction of the church: Aye... see yer all around.
Ivarru: dark dreams human
Linwe says 'And have a swig o that holy water afore ye falls asleep..just for..good measure'
Linwe watchs as Swith weaves her way towards the church
Casandra: mayhap it will chase away some of her little friends
Linwe watches the demon to make sure he doesn't follow
Linwe whispers to Cassie "He be a crafty one...
Casandra: if I were Swith I could sing to him
Linwe says 'Mayhaps I should sing him elven lays..once I drove a Matron mad singing her the Sillmarillion'
Lore Dexler quietly approaches from off to the side
Casandra: oh my! yes, try that
Linwe says 'We had her captured and I made her listen as I sand the history of the elven People'
Linwe spies Lore behind the demon
Casandra: although do we really want him mad? a loco demon?
Ivarru: oh a creature of the night
Lore glances at the winged being, and noticing the style of the wings and the horns and the dark clothing, cocks a brow
Ivarru: your song would provide an annoyance and nothing else elf
Casandra glances past the demon "greetings!"
Lore inclines his head toward the three, murmuring, "Ave"
Linwe says 'Then an annoyance it shall be!'

 * * * * * * * * * * *

Linwe: There was Eru, the One, who in Arda is called Ilúvatar; and he made first the Ainur, the Holy Ones, that were the offspring of his thought, and they were with him before aught else was made. And he spoke to them, propounding to them themes of music; and they sang before him, and he was glad.
Ivarru: what a dreadful song
Linwe says 'Vedui Lore..I were just reciting some elven hisotry here thinkin mayhaps it would....please..this demon'
Linwe keened into song "But for a long while they sang only each alone, or but few together, while the rest hearkened; for each comprehended only that part of me mind of Il?vatar from which he came, and in the understanding of their brethren they grew but slowly. Yet ever as they listened they came to deeper understanding, and increased in unison and harmony.
And it came to pass that Il?vatar called together all the Ainur and declared to them a mighty theme, unfolding to them things greater and more wonderful than he had yet revealed; and the glory of its beginning and the splendour of its end amazed the Ainur, so that they bowed before Il?vatar and were silent.
Then Il?vatar said to them: 'Of the theme that I have declared to you, I will now that ye make in harmony together a Great Music. And since I have kindled you with the Flame Imperishable, ye shall show forth your powers in adorning this theme, each with his own thoughts and devices, if he will. But I win sit and hearken, and be glad that through you great beauty has been wa
Then the voices of the Ainur, like unto harps and lutes, and pipes and trumpets, and viols and organs, and like unto countless choirs singing with words, began to fashion the theme of Il?vatar to a great music; and a sound arose of endless interchanging melodies woven in harmony that passed beyond hearing into the depths and into the heights, and the places of the dwelling of Il?vatar were filled to overflowing, and the music and the echo of the music went out into the Void, and it was not void. Never since have the Ainur made any music like to this music, though it has been said that a greater still shall be made before Il?vatar by the choirs of the Ainur and the Children of Il?vatar after the end of days. Then the themes of Il?vatar shall be played aright, and take Being in the moment of their utterance, for all shall then understand fully his intent in their part, and each shall know the comprehension of each, and Il?vatar shall give to their thoughts the secret fire, being well pleased.
But now Ilúvatar sat and hearkened, and for a great while it seemed good to him, for in the music there were no f.........
Linwe goes on and on and on singing the lay

First Temptation

SweetPea FeatherFeet sees her beautiful Queen below and flies down to greet her ‘greetings my queen.’
Casandra Shilova: greetings my friend
SweetPea FeatherFeet says 'have you seen anything shiny lying around? I have seen nothing in my travels.'  She babbles on as she twirls and spins "why don’t I ever see you with a shiny thing? do you have any?'
Casandra Shilova: mmmm no, I don't believe I do. I have crowns with pretty jewels and pearls. Does that count?
SweetPea FeatherFeet says "that doesn't count. Don’t you have a...bag or… box of favorite things you just like to look at and hold?'  She lifts up her pouch and opens it's drawstring top.  She pulls out a wad of wool and carefully unwraps it.
SweetPea FeatherFeet reveals a golden phoenix beak and holds it out to her friend. "Look at it. Touch it' she says
Casandra Shilova: ooooo!!!! reaches out and strokes it
Casandra Shilova: now that is really special!
SweetPea FeatherFeet holds onto the golden object avariciously and doesn't let go of it.  'Doesn't that fill you with joy and peace to hold such a beautiful thing?'
Casandra Shilova: aaammmnn...I'll have to take your word for it, since you are showing it to me and not dropping it in my hand to hold, I really couldn't say
SweetPea FeatherFeet considers her friend's words and looks into her eyes deeply,  sees honesty and decides to trust her.  She shrugs "here, hold it' and she drops it into her queen's hand
Casandra Shilova's eyes light up as the weight of the wondrous beak falls into her hand and she feels the magic in it "oooh! this is truly special!"
SweetPea FeatherFeet lets out a long sigh "it is very special and smooth as ..as... mooonlight on the pond”
Casandra Shilova strokes it gently, her eyes bright with longing
SweetPea FeatherFeet looks at the Queen and then at the beak.  "it is my most favorite treasure and it was a gift from a dear friend.  We should find you your own treasures."
Casandra Shilova nods and says with longing "yes, we should"
SweetPea FeatherFeet wrinkles her forehead and begins to think.  'the Ancient One has treasures that are just lying around'
Casandra Shilova: that is truth, but he will also take a nip out of us if we even attempt to steal one
SweetPea FeatherFeet says "I can fly as fast as he can and I am small enough to hide places he can't fit' she giggles.
Casandra Shilova: and I may be queen, but I am only a fae. He is big and fast and powerful and would not hesitate to prove it to me.  She finishes with: he is dragon. they came even before us.
SweetPea FeatherFeet closes one eye and stares at her Queen.
She does a little dance like a chicken
Casandra Shilova: oh, yes, I take your point. I am chicken when it comes to the possibility of confronting the red one over a wrong I have done him.
Casandra Shilova reluctantly hands her back her treasure
SweetPea FeatherFeet takes the golden beak with a sigh of relief and carefully wraps it in the wool 'thank you for returning it Casandra' she says
SweetPea FeatherFeet stuffs the bundle deep within her pouch.
Casandra Shilova: oh SweetPea I would not dream of keeping it
SweetPea FeatherFeet smiles and asks 'How do you think we can find you treasures if you  don’t pick them up from where they are just lying around?'
Casandra Shilova ponders "make one?"
SweetPea FeatherFeet squawks 'Make one? Isn't that work?'
Casandra Shilova: well, yes, it's work.  I guess.
SweetPea FeatherFeet snorts 'Of course it is.  We just need to go where there are many shinies and get you one.' she wrinkles her brow in consternation.
Casandra Shilova: I really do like jewelry, I am quite happy with my collection. It is very very large
SweetPea FeatherFeet suddenly shouts out "I know where there is a window with many colors in it.'
Casandra Shilova: there is???
SweetPea FeatherFeet nods her head vigorously 'Follow me Casandra'  She takes to the skies and lands in front of the building Jordon has called the Humans’ godhouse.
SweetPea FeatherFeet calls to Cas 'in here!'
Casandra Shilova enters and looks around the human's retreat from the world "I don't think I've been in this new house"
SweetPea FeatherFeet breathes out a long sigh 'isn’t it lovely? look how the sun makes these colors sparkle'
Casandra Shilova: this is much pleasanter than that old worn house. It was dark and I felt no lightness or spirit there.  She studies the glass window "it is quite pretty"
SweetPea FeatherFeet says 'See that piece right at the top of the cup? it is the shiniest of all. That is the one I want.'
Casandra Shilova: I like purple. And yes, I see. It shines so much I cannot see it clearly.
SweetPea FeatherFeet says with a grin "I tried all of the pieces to see if any were loose, but nothing moved.'
Casandra Shilova: ohhh, how disappointing.
SweetPea FeatherFeet giggles ' but I know a way'
Casandra Shilova looks at her with interest "you do?"
SweetPea FeatherFeet reaches into her pouch and pulls out her shiny spoon, the one the Ancient One threw back at her head.  She waves it over her head 'what do you think I can do with this?'
Casandra Shilova: eat something. Not what you had in mind?? mmmmm....break the glass? pry the glass out of the fastenings? Hypnotize someone into taking the window out and giving it to you?
SweetPea FeatherFeet giggles and hands the Queen the spoon
Casandra Shilova's eyes open really wide.  She puts her hands behind her back "who, me? No, not me. I couldn't possibly"
Emyly Beaumont takes the spoon she offered Casandra and frowns. She thinks of doing the chicken dance again and decides against it.
Casandra Shilova looks down "it's not that important to me. I don't really need shinies, really I don't"
SweetPea FeatherFeet says insistently 'but you are fae.  We ALL need shinies'
She sighs and puts her spoon back into the pouch.  "Jordon didn't think it was a good idea either'
Casandra Shilova looks down, and then up at her friend "now don't you feel better that we didn't do it? It is pretty though"
SweetPea FeatherFeet shakes her head 'No, i don’t feel better. I want a shiny.'  She stamps her foot then looks at the other fae and feels ashamed of showing her temper
SweetPea FeatherFeet sees how dignified her Queen is and sighs to herself.  She would really love to be just like her, but there is something inside her that won’t let her be dignified or gracious
Casandra Shilova looks at her friend, loving her but wishing she didn't have that willful little temper that shows itself upon occasion
SweetPea FeatherFeet flies back down to the ground.  'So what do you want to do now?  I'm thirsty'
Casandra Shilova: so am I, let's go to the spring for crystal clear water
SweetPea FeatherFeet heads to the door of the building, stopping to take two flowers from the vase in the corner and handing one to her friend
SweetPea FeatherFeet frowns "Water? I want milk" and she heads for the barn
Casandra Shilova takes the flower, sniffs it and holds it gently "mmm....very nice aroma"
SweetPea FeatherFeet giggles as she waves her flower at the cow 'smell this Betsy' she says
Casandra Shilova follows her "Do you know how to milk her?"
SweetPea FeatherFeet opens the gate and sits on the stool beside the cow.
Casandra Shilova: you look like you've been doing it all of your life!
SweetPea FeatherFeet scoffs 'Of course I do.  I had to learn when the villagers decided to not EVER leave us any milk'
Casandra Shilova: oooh!
SweetPea FeatherFeet’s fingers enclose the teats, and a stream of milk spurts.  She smiles as she hears the milk hit the side of the pail.  She stops milking the cow when the pail is half full.  She stands and picks up the bucket, offering it to her Queen. ‘Royalty first’ she giggles.
Casandra Shilova smiles and accepts the pail. Drinking her fill, she hands it back to SweetPea
Casandra Shilova: thank you
SweetPea FeatherFeet takes the bucket, tips back her head and lets the milk pour into her waiting mouth.  When the pail is empty she sets it down, wipes her mouth with the back of her hand and burps.
SweetPea FeatherFeet giggles 'thank you Betsy. ' She leaves the lily at the cow's feet and backs out of the stall.  She frowns at the stall door and then remembers.  She closes the gate and smiles.
Casandra smiles to see SweetPea remember that detail, so Betsy won't be tempted to wander off and eat the flowers on the hill.

Search for Milk

Jordon sees Emy and gives her a big hug. Emy giggles. "Shall we go the village? Do you think we can find any milk?"
Jordon: Ha! you and your milk!
Emy pouts “I'm thirsty"
Jordon: Alright, wipe that pouty face, and we will investigate. He smiles.
Emy smiles back "Yes Jordon" she says obediently. She flies into the village and immediately gets tangled in the line of drying clothes. She grumbles "Now why did they put wet clothes and rope right where I want to fly? This used to be good flying space!”
Jordon sniffs: Humans just don't consider our needs.
Emy stops, takes a mug of fairy tea out of her pouch and sips some. Then she looks at Jordon and sheepishly offers him the cup. "Want some?"
Jordon nods: Yes, I could use a reviver. He accepts the mug and gulps it down.
Emy watches him greedily. "Don’t drink it all! " she cries.
Jordon: Ah, yeah. He hands it back and says: Good flavor. I thought you wanted milk. I should rename you Miss Fae Dairy.
Emy takes the cup, drinks the rest of the tea and stuffs it back in her pouch. She looks around and says, "There are a lot more houses here now than there were before." She grins in anticipation. "That means more milk for me!"
Jordon looks around the village: It doesn't look like the bare bones it did before.
Emy asks, "Where should we look first? Who is most likely to leave us a saucer of milk?"
Jordon: I have no idea who lives in any of the houses. I would hazard a guess that the simpler human folk would be more like to carry on the old traditions. If so, the tenant buildings or shacks would be more likely.
Emy nod, "You go first.” She follows Jordon into a small shadowed building. "It is small in here and dark. Do you think the humans are afraid of the sunlight?"
Jordon assesses the cottage: No one here. However the fire is going. A homeless person may spend nights here.
Emy says in a small wavering voice "I wouldn't sleep here. Let's get out. It is much too dark." She runs out of the house quickly.
Jordon: Their windows aren't much good. But there is no need for us to dwell in these buildings.
Emy says, "I am afraid of the dark and can't move my wings in them. It is very scary." She peeks in the open door of the next building. "No milk" she says sadly. She shivers. Houses make her feel confined and helpless.
Jordon nods in agreement.
Emy says, "I remember that the baker was very friendly. Do you suppose she left milk for us?"
Jordon: Perhaps, let us look. He peers in the window
Emy tugs at the door, "This one won’t open Jordon" she says.
Jordon: Must be swollen shut. There is nothing there regardless.
Emy says, “Maybe they are hiding something. Imagine locking a door! What do you suppose is in there? Shinies?"
Jordon: Ha, they probably had trouble with squatters or the owners don't care to have Swith sleeping there.
Emy says "ooooo I miss that old minstrel. She played pretty songs that I could dance to."
Jordon: Yeah, when she wasn't soused, and sometimes when she was!
Emy laughs. “She was never too soused to sing and play well." She gives up on trying to open the locked door and flies off to the next building on her search for the bakery.
******************************************************
Emyly Beaumont continues her search for the bakery and enters the next building.
Jordon: It appears the humans built a new building to house their god. Don't they realize the gods cannot be contained to please themselves?
Emy is puzzled by his question and says, "The gods? Is this building a tribute to their gods?"
Jordon: Yes. They sit in comfort to pay homage to him.
Emy moves close to the stained glass window and smiles when she sees the light beams highlight the colored window. She sighs, "This is so pretty and shiny. Do you suppose..." she trails off and looks at Jordon. She jumps up on the windowsill, puts her grubby hands on the glass window and pushes against the individual bits of glass, hoping to find something loose. She says "Just one piece..."
Jordon: what are you thinking now?
Emy puts her hands behind her back. "Nothing" she says trying to look innocent.
Jordon moves closer to see if she is up to something and looks at her suspiciously. Then why are your hands behind your back? He raises an eyebrow. One piece of what? You take something from their god house and the humans will seek you out.
Emy grimaces in disappointment. "It is all stuck tight. Nothing is loose." She scoffs. "I didn't want one anyway." She jumps off the windowsill.
Jordon nods his head in understanding. (She really did want a piece of pretty glass.)
Emy heads for the door, spies a planter filled with flowers and plucks two lilies from it, offering one to Jordon.
Jordon takes the flower and sniffs at it. Nice odor, he says.
Emy puts the remaining flower in her hair and grins. "Am I as beautiful as the Queen now?"
Jordon smiles. You are indeed lovely
Emy sniffs her flower. "Yes, it is very sweet." She dimples at Jordon's remark and giggles. "I am lovely, aren't I? Now...where is that bakery?"
Jordon: There may no longer be a baker here
Emy says in horror, “No baker? No pies? Then what do the humans eat?”
Jordon: We can check down at the other end of town
Emy nods. "I will follow you Jordon."
Jordon laughs at the idea of Emy following him for a change.
******************************************************
Both fae fly off toward the gate, but Emy dawdles along and then stops at the barn. She calls out to him, "Look, Jordon, a cow!" and she opens the gate to the barn.
Jordon turns around and heads back.
Emy says "Do you think this cow belongs to that elf?"
Jordon: Yeah, she owns all of the livestock.
Emyly Beaumont grins with a malicious look in her eye. "Want some milk Jordon?"
Jordon: Yes, I have a taste for it. He moves to sit on the milking stool beside the cow. He milks the cow with a fine technique, squirting milk into the pail.
Emy giggles and moves closer to the milk pail. She a dirty finger in the pail and then puts the finger in her mouth. "mmmm…Fresh and creamy. That elf sure takes care of her animals."
Emy opens her mouth and points to it. "Here, Jordon."
Jordon aims and squirts directly towards her mouth.
Emy catches most of the milk while the rest dribbles down her chin as she swallows "Delicious." She looks at the overflowing pail. "I think you have enough in the bucket. Aren't you going to drink any?"
Jordon stops milking the cow and points at the pail. After you ma’am.
Emy kneels and drinks from the pail in huge gulps, leaving about half the pail for Jordon. "Done" she says as she wipes her mouth with the back of her hand. She hands him the bucket. He lifts the pail and drinks his fill
Emy smiles at the cow, patting her gratefully. "Thank you Betsy. Your milk was fresh and sweet today. Tell the elf she takes good care of you."
Emy says "What do you think Jordon? Isn't that the best milk you ever tasted?"
Jordon: nods. Fresh and sweet.
Emy say,s "I think the village is safe from tricks this day."
Jordon wipes his brow in relief: I do not care to be taken to task by the ancient one. It has been pleasant to escape that. It is not as though I can fly faster, or higher than he.
Emy scrunches her eyes and looks at Jordon. She clucks like a chicken.
Jordon grins watching her. You are in a silly mood!
Emy says dismissively, "Oh the ancient one. I have not seen him lately. and HE was not the one who persecuted me. That was the elf. Imagine, she thought taking the milk Betsy gave was stealing!"
Jordon: If it is not left out in a bowl or cup for us, it is not meant for us
Emy shrugs. "Then she needs to put locks on the stall door and tell the humans to leave us some milk." She grins. "Not that I can't undo a lock with the glamour"
Jordon: Hah, she doesn't care if we have milk. She is not adhering to the old ways.
Emy frowns "No she is not, yet she wants us to honor her ways." She skips out of the barn and looks at the gate. There is something she needs to do, but can't remember what. She looks at Jordon. "The gate... something..."
Emy smiles as she watches Jordon close the stall door. "Yes! that was it! I promised the elf I would close it!" She says "You are so wise Jordon."
Emy then opens and shuts the gate so her promise to the elf would be fulfilled. After all, she had given her word…
