~ ~ Welcome to the Isle of Arran ~ ~

This land has been swallowed by the sea.

There was a green place in a land far away, a place with a sheltering bay surrounded by jagged peaks and the shadow of a giant snow-clad mountain. To this place came a group of beings, as diverse as beings can be to one another, and they put down roots and made homes for themselves. Now, this is not to say there was peace in this land. With diversity also comes conflict and soon sides were taken, some friendships forgotten and lines were drawn. Some, thinking bigness means power, blamed the dragons for the conflict. Others, believing magic was the source, blamed the elves and fae. And of course, there were those that said that where you have humans, you will always have problems! So, instead of living in harmonious consort with each other, they split into their respective groups and moved to the four corners of the realm, eyeing each other with much suspicion and chagrin.
But of course, as we all know, in order to survive you have to get along with someone. So new friendships were forged and new bonds made. But in the Isle of Arran, those bonds do not last for long. Someone ALWAYS brings a shadow of a doubt to the fire…and then…things happen.

Annoying Elven Lay

Linwe glances over at Cassandra
Conner Revnik (Ivarru): oh a fae a human and an elf it must be my lucky day
Casandra calls out "Is everything all right?"
Linwe says 'Aye, Cassie...'
Linwe says 'He doesna hold us in thrall or anythin like that..he just be...bein a demon is all'
Casandra nods, not terribly reassured since he took to the air as soon as she asked
Linwe says 'Pay him no mind..he doesna like bein ignored'
Linwe says 'Tis like a pesky bug he is'
Swith the Scop waves at the fae and hiccups.
Casandra waves to Swith
Linwe says 'Ye know..there have been times I ahs wished I wwere born as an avariel..'
Linwe says 'But they be such reclusive elves'
Casandra flutters her wings
Swith says 'Nah... we's even... two flyin', two walkin'.'
Casandra: I do love having wings
Linwe says 'Maybe we can sweetness and lightness him to death'
Swith smirks: Bloody 'eck... think that'd kill me too...
Casandra Shilova: they make it so easy to get around. and to flee when the need arises
Casandra Shilova giggles
Linwe says 'I dunna know about the sweetness part..but I could do the lightness'
Linwe says 'I think I would make meself ill if I tried the sweetness part'
Swith hiccups and leans against the wall: Well I'll do sweetness.
Swith grins, showing some bad teeth.
Linwe says 'Alright..ye and Cassie do sweetness and I will do lightness'
Casandra smiles sweetly at the demon
Casandra: How are you today dear sir?
Ivarru: I am well
Linwe says 'He didna like it when El hugged him...he screeched like a girl...but I wouldna advise touchin huim'
Swith smirks: Nah... think I'll do nappin' instead.
Casandra: that is magnificent, I am so very glad you are well
Swith yawns for a while and has a last swig of rum before recorking the bottle.
Linwe says 'Aye,,ye go pick out a pew in yon church there Swith..a nice comfy one'
Swith says 'Oh aye... um... the church. Right.looks drunkenly confused a while, then slowly heads off in the direction of the church: Aye... see yer all around.
Ivarru: dark dreams human
Linwe says 'And have a swig o that holy water afore ye falls asleep..just for..good measure'
Linwe watchs as Swith weaves her way towards the church
Casandra: mayhap it will chase away some of her little friends
Linwe watches the demon to make sure he doesn't follow
Linwe whispers to Cassie "He be a crafty one...
Casandra: if I were Swith I could sing to him
Linwe says 'Mayhaps I should sing him elven lays..once I drove a Matron mad singing her the Sillmarillion'
Lore Dexler quietly approaches from off to the side
Casandra: oh my! yes, try that
Linwe says 'We had her captured and I made her listen as I sand the history of the elven People'
Linwe spies Lore behind the demon
Casandra: although do we really want him mad? a loco demon?
Ivarru: oh a creature of the night
Lore glances at the winged being, and noticing the style of the wings and the horns and the dark clothing, cocks a brow
Ivarru: your song would provide an annoyance and nothing else elf
Casandra glances past the demon "greetings!"
Lore inclines his head toward the three, murmuring, "Ave"
Linwe says 'Then an annoyance it shall be!'

Linwe: There was Eru, the One, who in Arda is called Ilúvatar; and he made first the Ainur, the Holy Ones, that were the offspring of his thought, and they were with him before aught else was made. And he spoke to them, propounding to them themes of music; and they sang before him, and he was glad.
Ivarru: what a dreadful song
Linwe says 'Vedui Lore..I were just reciting some elven hisotry here thinkin mayhaps it would....please..this demon'
Linwe keened into song "But for a long while they sang only each alone, or but few together, while the rest hearkened; for each comprehended only that part of me mind of Il?vatar from which he came, and in the understanding of their brethren they grew but slowly. Yet ever as they listened they came to deeper understanding, and increased in unison and harmony.
And it came to pass that Il?vatar called together all the Ainur and declared to them a mighty theme, unfolding to them things greater and more wonderful than he had yet revealed; and the glory of its beginning and the splendour of its end amazed the Ainur, so that they bowed before Il?vatar and were silent.
Then Il?vatar said to them: 'Of the theme that I have declared to you, I will now that ye make in harmony together a Great Music. And since I have kindled you with the Flame Imperishable, ye shall show forth your powers in adorning this theme, each with his own thoughts and devices, if he will. But I win sit and hearken, and be glad that through you great beauty has been wa
Then the voices of the Ainur, like unto harps and lutes, and pipes and trumpets, and viols and organs, and like unto countless choirs singing with words, began to fashion the theme of Il?vatar to a great music; and a sound arose of endless interchanging melodies woven in harmony that passed beyond hearing into the depths and into the heights, and the places of the dwelling of Il?vatar were filled to overflowing, and the music and the echo of the music went out into the Void, and it was not void. Never since have the Ainur made any music like to this music, though it has been said that a greater still shall be made before Il?vatar by the choirs of the Ainur and the Children of Il?vatar after the end of days. Then the themes of Il?vatar shall be played aright, and take Being in the moment of their utterance, for all shall then understand fully his intent in their part, and each shall know the comprehension of each, and Il?vatar shall give to their thoughts the secret fire, being well pleased.
But now Ilúvatar sat and hearkened, and for a great while it seemed good to him, for in the music there were no f.........
Linwe goes on and on and on singing the lay

Lore vs Asara

Lore woke to find the entire jail burning. After putting the many fires out (and getting burned himself), in a fit of rage he began to pursue the only person who would desire setting the tower on fire in revenge: Asara.

Loralleti Dexler bursts into the tavern, his clothing in shreds and smelling strongly of smoke. His skin his badly burned and peeling, so much so that no mortal could have survived it, and he looks nothing like Lore....it wouldn't have been known it was him if not for his voice. Looking like something from the Abyss, he bellows in a rage never before seen from him, "WHERE IS THE DROWESS?"

katyklysma the beautiful (katy Stratten) turns at the clamour and forwns

katyklysma the beautiful (katy Stratten) says 'What is this noise?'

Briana Palianta says "True...then shuts up as Lore crashes in

Loralleti Dexler repeats, "Where is the DROWESS called Asara?" as he pulls off a ripped part of his shirt, tossing it out the open door. "Is she here?"

katyklysma the beautiful (katy Stratten) stalks up to the vampire

Briana Palianta: The only drowess in here was El...but I saw one out on the street earlier

katyklysma the beautiful (katy Stratten) says 'You come bursting into this place, disturbing our tranquility, demadning to see a DROWESS??'

katyklysma the beautiful (katy Stratten) says 'You are a very rude pile of dust'

Loralleti Dexler glances around, but hearing Zara's words, he snarls. He whips around and dashes back out the door, moving slow from his wounds, and toward the drow caves

Loralleti Dexler roars, his words echoing through the isle, "Drowess, where are you?"

Loralleti Dexler growls as he hauls himself the last few feet up the mountain

Asara Thursday looks up at the growling Lore, backing down the mountain side carefully, hidden completely within her cloak.

Loralleti Dexler stands up painfully, the flesh peeling from his bones as he curls his upper lip, exposing long, slender fangs......"You"

Asara Thursday points a gloved finger to herself, forcing her voice to sound stange and old. "Me?"

Loralleti Dexler snarls and leaps down to her level, his crimson eyes wild with pain and lacking any sense he would have had before: "Yes, you!"

Asara Thursday pulls her cowl down, shrinking her size considerably, still using what she would call her granny voice. "I'm just a little peddler, looking for places to sell her wares."

Loralleti Dexler leaps down again, crouched, an animal-like fury seeming to emanate from him...his pupils narrow until they are slits like a serpent's. His fangs still glisten in the fading light: "On MOUNTAINS?"

Asara Thursday coughs haggardly, stepping back from the screaming man, hunched over and hobbling. "Aye, had to cross them I did..." She coughed some more, stepping away again. "And I see I've intruded upon your mountain, I be leaving I will."

Loralleti Dexler creeps forward, his fingers curling and stiffening to resemble claws. His voice rises until it's a bellow, "You think me a FOOL, but I know better! I know who you are!"

Loralleti Dexler seems to have lost his mind from the pain, and he stumbles toward her, beginning to lose his grace: "I know...I know it...you are the drowess..."

Asara Thursday shakes her head, the hood moving side to side as she makes a great attempt to keep a distance between them. "No, no. You're mad in rage, I seen no drow about these ways."

Loralleti Dexler suddenly drops to one knee, being very weak in his state and the sunlight only adds to it. His voice weakens too, and he goes on, "You are her..."

Loralleti Dexler seems to drain of all the power he had displayed only a few minutes before, though his skin continues to slowly heal and begin to resemble what it looked like before

Asara Thursday tilts her head to the side, watching the vampire fall with curiosity. Keeping up her old woman facade a little longer till she knew it was safe, her lips smiling. "Mayhaps I be, mayhaps I don't." It was clearly her voice ringing out now, the old woman facade dropped as she stayed well hidden.

Loralleti Dexler's head sinks despite his will, the tattered parts of his clothing moving in the wind. He mutters, his mind sinking into a pit of pain and darkness until he would fully heal, "You are..."

Loralleti Dexler smells strongly of smoke as he makes an effort to raise his head, his fangs disappearing as his upper lip droops: "You did it...you shall...pay..."

Asara Thursday moves closer, moving to his side, a booted foot kicking out at his ribs to finish knocking him down. "You might be correct..." She hissed lowly.

Loralleti Dexler groans from the pain as he falls onto his side, too weak to stay upright.

Loralleti Dexler struggles to sit up, still somewhat crazed, though his skin begins to lose its burned-on scars as it healed: "Peddler on...mountain...what a see-through...disguise..."

Asara Thursday presses her boot into his back, pushing him back towards the ground with force. "Shut up and die." She hissed, lifting her boot from his back and kicking his ribs once again.

Loralleti Dexler groans again, but lifts his head, his eyes focusing on her face. A grimace upon his own, he says weakly but with the tone of a promise, "Sum quod eris; fui quod es..."

Loralleti Dexler summons some strength to sit up, though it's slow and painful. As darkness falls, he

Loralleti Dexler goes on, clambering to his knees where he sways for a moment, "Bibo ergo sum...sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc"

Asara Thursday decides that he is growing into a problem, kicking his ribs over and over. She wanted him down, and if he did fall she had mind to keep him down.

Loralleti Dexler loses his balance and almost falls again, but as the night grows darker and darker, his crimson eyes begin to glow again like red lights in the night: "Sed ut vivam edo"

Loralleti Dexler manages not to fall, though he remains on his knees

Asara Thursday growls lightly, finding herself weaponless and with a strengthening enemy she finds it best to run, tearing off towards where she stored her staff.

Loralleti Dexler tries to go after her, but falls

Loralleti Dexler shouts: Bibo ergo sum!
